Step by Step Method

Step 1

Pour water and salt into a large pot-Cover and let come to a boil.

Step 2

Add the potatoes and cover again-bring to a boil once more-adjust the flame to keep a low boil-cook for 20 minutes or more, until the potatoes are soft.

Step 3

Drain the potatoes and serve immediately with butter )poured over) and sprinkled with pepper.

I was raised upstate and love these!!!! My Grandma always made them after harvesting the fresh-dug new potatoes straight from the garden but you can buy these pre-packaged in upstate grocery stores. Yum! Thanks Natsgarden123!
