"Simple and quick to prepare, not to mention super delicious too! Very simple flavors, but just wonderful with the addition of the fresh sage. They are pretty healthy too using ground turkey and veggies. They make a super lean and nutritious combination, so why not try these out. These are great served with your favorite veggie and potato or rice. You could also put them in a bulkie roll or hamburger roll and eat them open faced with the gravy poured over the top, or skip the gravy and serve with your favorite condiments. No matter how you have them, you will be glad you did! I found this on Laurassweetspot blog awhile back and have had them a few times. Thought it was about time I posted it!"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add 2 tablespoons olive oil.

Step 2

Add chopped mushrooms and shallots, and season with salt and pepper. Saute veggies until dark and tender, 5-6 minutes. Remove from heat.

Step 3

Transfer veggies to a bowl, and return pan to stove top to preheat, to cook patties.

Step 4

Place turkey in a mixing bowl. Make a well in the center of the meat.

Step 5

Add sage, Worcestershire, bread crumbs, and beaten egg.

Step 6

Add veggie mixture and salt and pepper, as needed. Mix together. Make 4 patties. Cook patties 1-2 at a time, with 1 tablespoon olive oil heated over medium heat, about 6 minutes per side.

Step 7

Transfer to serving plates.

Step 8

Return pan to heat and add butter. When the butter has melted, whisk in flour, and cook 1-2 minutes.

Step 9

Whisk in broth and season gravy with poultry seasoning, salt and pepper. Thicken gravy to your liking, and serve over patties.

These patties are FANTABULOUS! Like a hug from grandma. It reminded me of the smells of Thanksgiving and the flavors of the holidays, except we enjoyed it on a weeknight evening. I even like it better than beef salisbury patties. The fresh sage is a must and brings out the comforty in this perfect comfort food recipe. I used a bit more sage than the recipe called for and made a touch more extra gravy because I knew it would be a winner! I was able to get 6 patties instead of the suggested 4 using the amount of turkey called for in the recipe. A million thank you's Linda for a fabulous meal that knocked our socks off.
