"The first time I made this I used store purchased crostini from a box, sure it was a time-saver, well I won't be doing that again I now always buy a fresh baguette and leave it on the counter overnight, fresh bread toasted is so much better and I find if you leave the bread sit out overnight on the counter it makes for easier slicing or you could use an electric knife on and another thing fresh basil is the best to use"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a bowl mix 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder with oil and melted butter. Brush on one side of each bread slice. Place the bread slices on large baking pan. Bake 350 degrees for 6-8 minutes or until lightly browned.

Step 2

In a bowl combine the feta cheese with 2 minced garlic cloves and basil, Season with pepper; sprinkle over toast. Top chopped with tomato. Bake 8-10 minutes longer or until heated through. Serve warm.

Delicious, great tating appetizer, we loved it. I made the mistake of mixing the feta garlic and tomato together but it worked. hungry_grl this is a keeper for sure
