  US | Metric  Print Ingredients
  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts (4 breasts)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (or 1 tablespoon olive oil)
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 1/4 cup sherry (dry)
  • 1/4 cup honey (liquid honey)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon salt, to taste
  • 2 green onions, cut into strips
  • 2 carrots, julienned (I usually use 3 or 4)

What You Will Need

No special items needed.
  How to Make

Step 1

In pan over medium heat saute chicken in butter or oil

Step 2

Add minced garlic stir in carefully, saute lightly

Step 3

Stir in sherry, honey, lemon juice and salt

Step 4

Simmer covered about 20 minutes or until tender and no pink showing

Step 5

Add vegetables, cook to tender crisp or as you prefer

Step 6

Place chicken on platter, arrange vegetables around chicken, spoon sauce over chicken Should you wish a thicker sauce boil sauce a few extra minutes.

Started making as directed up to step 4 when I put into the oven to finish off (with lid on), as I needed stove top space for other things and as my 4 chicken breasts weighed in at just over a kilogram (2 pound) I allowed a little longer for cooking but they ended up a little on the dry side but then again I rarely get boneless chicken breast just right but the flavour of the sauce made up for that and were still very much enjoyed, thank you Gerry made for Billboard Recipe tag game.

Love this chicken! DH is not a fan of B/S chicken breast, but he said this was wonderful and to keep this recipe! The chicken was moist and tender. Thought the sweetness was perfectly balanced with the rest of the ingredients. Thanks Gerry for another excellent recipe! Made for Billboard Recipe Tag.

I cooked this starting on the stove-top as directed, but had to leave the house for a bit so I put it in the oven to finish it off while I was away. The flavours in this chicken are very nice and my chicken turned out so moist!!! Thanks for sharing. Made for the Billboard Recipe Tag game.

YUMMY! We loved this sweet chicken! It reminded me of Chinese chicken. The glazed texture the chicken gets is amazing. I made it as directed with 2 large b/s chicken breasts. I also used my peeler to make carrot ribbons instead of julienned. This was great served with zucchini and brown rice for a nice healthy meal. Freddy Cat says thanks for the chicken!
