Step by Step Method
Step 1
Combine hot milk, molasses, brown sugar and salt. and butter. Cool mixture to lukewarm. Add yeast to cooled milk. add rye flour allow to soak, rye needs this to taste OK and not crunchy and dirt like.
Step 2
Add flour to make a stiff dough (another person said it took 5 c of flour but gave me a 2 star rating on another site so you judge).
Step 3
Let double; punch down.
Step 4
Put cornmeal under.
Step 5
Brush with egg white and 1 tablespoon water.
Step 6
Sprinkle with caraway seed.
Step 7
Slash the dough before baking.
