Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a large pot over medium high heat bring 18 cups of water, lemons, 2 cups of sugar and honey to a boil; stirring until sugar dissolves. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat; cover and steep for 30 minutes. Uncover and let cool for 2 hours or until lukewarm.

Step 2

Squeeze juice from lemon halves into lemonade; discard peels. Mix in more sugar by 1/4 cupfuls, if desired. Add strawberries. Chill until cold (6 hours or up to 2 days).

Step 3

Fill glasses with ice cubes and ladle in the lemonade; garnish with whole berries if desired,

Love it! I loved this homemade lemonade and with the addition of the strawberries it adds a further taste element as well as it being pretty to look at. Though the weather has been on the colder side, it was well enjoyed for the reason that it is GOOD. I love making drinks like this because I find it to be fun! Thank you ellie for sharing. Made it for Billboard tag.

Ellie, this is one thirst quenching lemonade! I made half a batch and used Splenda for the sweetener. Great with lots of ice on these sweltering days here in NH! Thank you for posting it here for us!
