"From Recipe+ magazine, sound easy and delicious. Have not included marinating time but at least 30 minutes is recommended. They used chicken wings and drumsticks but other cuts could be used but times may vary. UPDATE - since posting this I have given it a whirl but not exactly to recipe but what we had was enjoyed - I quartered a 2 kilogram chicken and removed the wings from the breast giving 6 pieces and put in a corningware casserole dish and poured all the marinade over the chicken pieces and marinated at room temperature in a very cool room for 3 hours and then put the whole lot in a 175C fan forced oven for 50 minutes and the result was succulent chicken with a wonderful sauce to serve over rice. My recommendation is if you choose to follow the recipe as is put the marinade in a small pot amd heat up and boil for about 5 minutes to serve over rice or whatever you serve the chicken with. Just doing chicken wings in the sauce would give your a finger licking snack dish (just have finger bowls and lots of napkins on hand). UPDATE - made this last night, I quartered a whole chicken and removed the wings from the breast but I had an oops moment in that I forgot to keep some marinade for basting and as I was marinating the chicken in an oven proof corning ware dish I decided to put the whole lot in the oven as is and the result though not sticky but very saucy was quite delicious not overly sweet but with a under lying bite to it. The chicken took 50 minutes to cook at 175C fan forced."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 200C (180C fan forced).

Step 2

Combine tomato sauce, sweet chilli sauce, char sui sauce, garlic, ginger and sesame oil in a large glass or ceramic bowl (no metal), reserve 1/3 cup of the marinade (to be used for basting).

Step 3

Add chicken pieces to marinade for at least 30 minutes (longer is fine) in the refrigerator.

Step 4

Line a large roasting pan with baking paper and place the chicken pieces in a single layer in the prepared pan.

Step 5

Bake, basting the chicken with the reserved marinade and turning occasionally, for 35 to 40 minutes or until glazed and cooked.

Step 6

While the chicken is cooking combine the sesame seeds, coriander and green onion in a small bowl.

Step 7

Remove chicken from oven and put onto a serving platter and garnish with the sesame seeds, coriander and green onion mix and serve.

Easy recipe to make, and doesn't take much time. I marinated for about an hour, but felt the flavors just stayed on the surface and didn't really penetrate the meat. I thought the heat level was perfect, but other diners thought it was too hot. A recipe I'll make again, with a few tweaks. Thanks for sharing Pat! Made for First Time Tag game.
