"Just a catchy phrase to say how good these are. My food allergic DD loved these. I doubled it and they were a bit crumbly, but maybe they stay together better in an 8x8 pan as the recipe uses. "

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350° F and butter an 8x8 or 9x9 inch glass baking dish.
Step 2
Spread oats, sunflower seeds and almonds on a cookie sheet to toast in oven for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 3
Combine honey, brown sugar, butter or margarine, vanilla or almond extract and salt in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook until brown sugar has dissolved.
Step 4
When oat mixture is done, remove form oven and reduce heat to 300°F Add oat mixture to liquid mixture, add flax meal and dried fruit and stir to combine.
Step 5
Put mixture in the buttered baking dish and press to evenly distribute. Bake for 25 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool before cutting into squares.
Step 6
Store in airtight container for 1 week, or longer in the fridge.
