Step by Step Method
Step 1
Combine the sugar and 2 tablespoons water in a saucepan. Do not stir.
Step 2
Cook over medium-high heat to a dark caramel, swirling as it begins to brown to distribute the sugar.
Step 3
While the sugar and water are going at it, heat up the cream in microwave just until warm.
Step 4
Take off the heat and add your room temperature butter.
Step 5
Whisk the butter in, being sure it’s totally combined.
Step 6
Add your warmed cream and whisk vigorously and add the salt. Set aside.
Step 7
In large saucepan, melt 3 tablespoons butter over low heat.
Step 8
Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted.
Step 9
Remove from heat and add the caramel and stir until thoroughly combined.
Step 10
Add Rice Krispies cereal. Stir until well coated.
Step 11
Using buttered spatula or wax paper evenly press mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray.
