Salisbury Style Meatloaf
"I like meatloaf with ketchup on top and my SO doesn't,so we compromised, and this is it.If you don't have the loaf pan, use whatever baking dish you have on hand. Also you can free form the meatloaf if you like. If you want a comfort meal, serve with Mashed Potatoes & your favorite green veggie. Submitted to " ZAZZ " on Nov.5th.2013. " Keep Smiling :)"

Thank you ChefShapweaver, my family loved this meatloaf and the gravy was just the "icing on the cake' yummy gravy, thanks for making me a meatloaf queen!.
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 2 large eggs, well beaten
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3/4 cup breadcrumbs (plain)
- 1/2 cup onions, finely chopped (sweet onions)
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 3 garlic cloves,minced
- GRAVY INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup water
- 1 package (7/8 ounce) brown gravy mix
- 1 whole onion, large (thinly sliced,and separated into rings)
- 1 1/2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons margarine
- 1 can (4 ounce) sliced mushrooms (drained)
What You Will Need
No special items needed.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In large bowl, combine all loaf ingredients, mixing well but lightly as not to dry out meat.
Pour into a lightly oiled 9 1/4 x 5 1/4-inch loaf pan.
Bake at 350°F for 40 minutes. Drain grease. Top with gravy and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
For gravy: Prepare gravy mix and water according to package directions.
In a medium size skillet, melt margarine.
Add sliced onions, brown sugar, and mushrooms, stirring until onions are softened and a medium brown, about 15 minutes.
Add gravy and stir until thickened and heated through.
