"A great side dish. They are just so easy to make and are such a nice compliment to so many dishes. You can use fresh pearl onions, but to make things easy ... I use a couple of boxes of frozen onions. They are already cleaned and ready to cook. Don't forget to add the fresh herbs. Perfect for entertaining."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Onions ... In a medium bowl, add the olive oil, balsamic, honey, thyme, rosemary, salt and pepper and mix well. Add the onions and toss to combine.

Step 2

Bake ... Add the onions to a 13x9 baking dish and spread them out as much as possible, then cover with foil. Bake in a 350 degree oven on the middle shelf for 20-25 minutes. Uncover, mix again, recover and bake another 20-25 minutes, until golden brown and tender.

Step 3

Serve ... Great with just about anything. I love it with roasted or braised meats or slow cooked meats. True comfort food. Also wonderful for entertaining. Very easy to make. ENJOY!

Great super easy and tasty side dish. I made this recipe dividing it in 1/3 since it was only DH and I eating them. I also used some dry herbs as my rosemary & thyme plants didn't look too good, due to this whacky weather we have been having this year. I served them with beets, long grain rice and steak. Made for Alphabet Soup tag.
