Step by Step Method

Step 1

Defrost the bread according to package directions.

Step 2

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 3

Grease a baking sheet.

Step 4

Crumble the sausage and fry it in a large skillet over medium-high heat until well browned; drain well.

Step 5

Chop the bacon into small pieces; fry them in a skillet until crisp and drain well.

Step 6

Roll the dough into an approximate 10-by-12-inch rectangle.

Step 7

Sprinkle the dough with the sausage, bacon and the grated mozzarella cheese or American cheese.

Step 8

Roll up the dough from one of the short ends and pinch the ends to seal.

Step 9

Lay the roll, seam side down on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 10

Bake for 30 minutes.

My husband rolled out the dough for me; I would have made the loaf smaller. I picked wheat bread and used mozzarella cheese. I also used regular sausage instead of hot because I'm a chicken. I have only eaten some of the end, so I haven't gotten the really cheesey part yet. I'll have that tomorrow. This was good, I look forward to eating it warm with eggs and coffee. Thanks for the idea! I made this for Billboard Recipe Tag 2019.
