"A friend loves those biscuits but has a way to go to get them. The copy cat recipe uses Bisquick which would be faster if you wanted to use. Just add the sour cream and carb water, but I'm making from scratch. They said 1/2 c butter, so if you want more crunch do that."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Mix baking powder and flour; cut in shortening, then cut in sour cream.

Step 2

Add vinegar to water, add to mix, it will foam up, mix.

Step 3

Put on floured board knead until smooth, not too much, will lose air.

Step 4

Pat out to 1/2 inch thickness.

Step 5

Cut biscuits, dip in butter covering both sides.

Step 6

Put on cookie sheet.

Step 7

Bake 400 degrees for 15 minutes (now my oven is wonky so check, should be golden brown may need 20 minutes).

Yummers. I love biscuits and these were perfectly delicious. Followed all as written, except by adding 1 ½ teaspoons of salt to the flour mixture. Love the concept of dipping the biscuits into butter before baking, as it gave that yummy buttery flavor and the edges turned out nice and crisp. We enjoyed these with a bowl of soup amongst other dinner items. Good stuff, Dee, and thanks for sharing.
