Ponzu Sauce By Pammy
"This is an outstanding Ponzu sauce - once you make this once, you'll never go back to bottled. The recipe was originally posted by my friend Pammy on another website, and is being carried forward in her memory."

We loved this sauce! The combination of flavors were delicious and the orange zest really adds some zing. I used sake but still skipped the sugar. Made for CQ 3.
- 1/4 cup orange juice (and zest)
- 2 tablespoons sake (or mirin, but don't use the sugar)
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (if using sake)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 1/2 teaspoons fresh lime juice
- Cayenne pepper, 1 pinch
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon water
- 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
What You Will Need
No special items needed.
Zest your orange - now juice it. You need ¼ cup; make a screwdriver with the rest.
Put orange juice, zest, sake, sugar, soy sauce, lime juice, and cayenne into a saucepan. Bring to a boil, turn down heat to a simmer, and reduce sauce by half for about 3 minutes.
Mix together the water and corn starch, add to the simmering sauce, and stir until thickened. I DON'T THICKEN IT, I LIKE IT RUNNIER! If skipping, go to next step.
Add the sesame oil and stir to combine.
It's done! There, that was easy, wasn't it? Now taste it - Oh wow! Start imagining what you'll be able to do with this stuff.
