"So easy, and quick to prepare. A nice side dish to serve with my favorite ... "Pan Seared Gingered Plum Pork Tenderloin" (also posted on Recipezazz); but perfect to serve with any of your favorite recipes. This also goes great with a side of rice."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

This recipe is very open - in that you can prepare it for 2, 4, 6, or 8. The ratio is still the same. Two parts onions to one part plums.

Step 2

Onions and Plums ... Add the butter to a medium size saute pan on medium high heat. I like to use a non stick pan. Add the onions and cook 5-10 minutes until soft and tender; then add in the plums and cook another 8-10 minutes until the plums begin to soften and the onions begin to brown. Season with salt, pepper and the fresh rosemary.

Step 3

Serve and ENJOY! A simple unique side dish. I used dark purple plums, but I have also used red plums; use what is in season.

We really enjoyed this recipe. I used frozen Damson plums and fresh pearl onions that I boiled for 2 minutes or a bit less to remove the skin and give them a bit of head start on the actual cooking the combination of plum, rosemary and onion is super. I would like to make this recipe with the medium size pickling onion. Will make again for sure. Thanks KC for adding to an enjoyable dinner
