Yum. I used some French bread slices and loved how this turned out. Gotta love lots of garlic. Thanks for sharing, Pat.

Very good! Lots of butter and oil, so it really penetrates the bread halves. I didn't have to cook mine as long as stated. It was already browning at 6 minutes. We really enjoyed this.

Made for the Best of 2015 event as a favorite of Mikekey - I had to get creative due to the baguette bread my grocery shopper bought for me to use. The bread was bakery-fresh, European-style baguette & so was very long & thin. I measured it at 21 in long. I cut it into 4 equal pieces, then down the center & then in 1 in segments. It stayed intact that way & resembled the way your desired outcome was described. The rest was done in a flash using fresh parsley from our balcony herb garden & it looked just like Mike’s pic. I did my taste test w/a protein-rich mixed green salad & the rest was frozen to accompany homemade lasagna I also made for a later date. I look forward to it & thx for sharing this recipe w/us.
