Step by Step Method

Step 1

Beat cream cheese with cream.

Step 2

Gradually beat in sugar, then blend in chocolate.

Step 3

Stir in vanilla and rum or almond extract, salt and (if using) 1 cup nuts.

Step 4

Press into lightly greased 8-inch square pan and cover top with remaining nuts (or can top each square with one pecan half).

Step 5

Mark in 64 1-inch square pieces and chill.
