Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F. Set oven rack to second-lowest position. Line a large cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2
Mix all the dry ingredients (flour, walnuts, salt, sugar) in a large bowl. Add the vanilla, almond extract and butter combine everything together using clean hands (this may take a few minutes of hand-mixing).
Step 3
Using you hands roll into about a 1-inch ball or a little smaller. Place balls on the cookie sheet, spaced at least an inch apart from each other (at this point you may refrigerate the balls until ready to bake).
Step 4
Bake for about 15-20 minutes (these will spread out slightly when baked).
Step 5
When cookies are still warm but cool enough to handle coat the cookies in some powdered sugar. Set aside on a rack to cool completely.
