"Any kind of fish cakes speak of New England, but little cakes of lobster make you think of the Maine coast. These are very tasty. You can even put them in a hamburg roll and make a "lobtah" burger."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Cook the lobsters and take out the meat; don't forget to take out the large vein-like tract in the tail.

Step 2

Make crumbs out of the bread.

Step 3

In a bowl put all the ingredients except for the butter and mix well.

Step 4

Make cakes--trying not to pat them too firm--just so they hold their shape.

Step 5

Melt the butter in a fry pan and put cakes in it; fry slowly till golden.

We love our seafood and especially lobster. We recently got some fresh lobster and I made up a batch of these lobster cakes. They are extremely rich and delicious and we thought these were fabulous!

I made these only I didn't put them in rolls. Instead I had them with http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/shirleys-shrimp-potato-salad-7321 (only I used lobster instead of the shrimp, and I just left out the olives and green peppers in the recipe. I also added lemon in with the mayonnaise.) My dad is a lobsterman and has his own boat, so we get lobster from his traps before he sells them to one of the local fish markets. The cakes were beyond delicious, and the lobster was succulent. I squirted lemon on them before we ate. This was a meal that we won't soon forget!

This is a new one on me and am I happy to have found this recipe for lobster cakes. I love crab cakes but with the lobster it is even better! I squirted lemon on the cakes just before serving and they were so good I wanted to savor every bite!
