"I've been making this casserole since the 70's. The original recipe is from my Betty Crocker cookbook. It's evolved over the years into this recipe. Feel free to change it up to suit your family's tastes."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a large frying pan combine beef, onion, bouillon, salt and pepper. Brown until no longer pink. Drain well.

Step 2

Stir in stewed tomatoes, tomato paste, soup and ketchup.

Step 3

Simmer 5 minutes.

Step 4

Pour mixture into a 2 quart casserole.

Step 5

Stir in macaroni.

Step 6

Bake covered in 350* oven for 25-30 minutes until bubbly.

Step 7

Uncover, place cheese on top and bake 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Step 8

Tip: I freeze the extra tomato soup and paste in a ziploc bag for the next time I make the recipe.

Engrossed

Yummy! I love goulash, and this is a great one! I used garlic salt and added 3 cloves of crushed garlic. I also added frozen chopped spinach, 1 cup of cottage cheese and about 2tbsp shredded parmesan. I didn't use the green beans or cheese. We enjoyed this with a nice salad for a very satisfying delicious meal. Made for the Billboard recipe tag game.
