Italian Meatball Burgers
"A great tasting burger that I originally found at Jovinacooks Blog. Great for lunches and even better for a barbecue outside when it's too hot too cook inside. I omit the salt to cut down on the sodium. You are going to love these burgers!"

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
Step 2
Split rolls.
Step 3
Remove casing from the sausage.
Step 4
Combine sausage, chopped basil and next 5 ingredients (through ground sirloin) in a medium bowl.
Step 5
Divide beef mixture into 6 equal portions with moist hands, shaping each into a 1/2 inch thick burger patty. Press thumb in the center of each burger, leaving a nickel-sized indentation.
Step 6
Place burgers on a grill rack coated with cooking spray or oil. Grill 6 minutes. Turn burgers over, and grill 2 minutes.
Step 7
Place a slice of cheese on each burger and grill 6 minutes, or until a thermometer registers 160°F.
Step 8
Remove from the grill, and let stand 5 minutes.
Step 9
Lightly grill the rolls.
Step 10
Place 1 basil leaf on the bottom half of each roll.
Step 11
Top each roll with 1 burger, 1 tablespoon marinara sauce, and the roll top.
