Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a skillet fry the bacon. Drain, reserving drippings, crumble and set aside.

Step 2

In the reserved drippings, saute the cabbage and onion until soft.

Step 3

Mash warm potatoes with milk and butter, and season with salt and pepper.

Step 4

Fold in the bacon, cabbage and onions.

I used red butter potatoes and cut my own cabbage. I eyeballed how much cabbage to put in. This was good comfort food that I had with corned beef.
