"This is out of the "Take-out-tonight" WW cookbook. It says you can use salmon steaks with this dish. Great served with a refreshing cucumber salad. It's easy to prepare, requires virtually no chopping and is ready in less than 20 minutes. This had 4 points on the old program."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

To make the sauce, bring the mirin, vinegar, soy sauce, honey, ginger, and wasabi to boil in a small saucepan.

Step 2

Cook, stirring occasionally, over medium-high heat until the flavors are blended and the sauce is thickened, about 5 minutes.

Step 3

Remove from the heat; cover and keep warm.

Step 4

Meanwhile, sprinkle the salmon with the salt and the pepper.

Step 5

Spray a large nonstick skillet with nonstick spray and set over high heat.

Step 6

Add the salmon and cook, turning once, until the fish is browned on the outside and opaque in the center, about 4 minutes on each side.

Step 7

Spoon the sauce over the salmon.

Step 8

Sprinkle with the scallions.

Step 9

Serve at once.

Wow, does this ever pack a punch! The sauce was really great but also very powerful. The next time I make it, I will half the amount of wasabi paste due to personal preference. The flavor was wonderful and the salmon was cooked perfectly. I also loved how easy this was to prepare. I'll make it again, for sure. Thank you!

This was good and easy. Right up my alley. The Wasabi is spicy, but not too much so. I think this could have repeats. I made this for Food, Friends, and Fun.

Ten stars - we loved this! The sauce is to die for. Made exactly as written except I tripled the ginger and went heavy on the wasabi. We took the fusion route and served this over simple mashed potatoes. So delicious! The sauce would be excellent over other fish, grilled chicken thighs, pork chops, or grilled skirt steak. This recipe is a total keeper - thanks for posting a new favorite!

Daily Inspiration

Definitely flavorful and really good on our salmon last night. I used half the amount of the wasabi and it was perfect for us. Instead of spooning the sauce over the salmon, I brushed it on and served the remainder of the sauce on the side.

Loved the wasabi glaze. My skillet must have been a bit too hot so my salmon got a little brown, but it still turned out delicious. I think I'll try the glaze on some chicken in the future as well. Thanks for sharing....made for Went to the Market Tag game.

We really liked salmon cooked this way. Didn't have any mirin so used white wine and chives instead of scallions but otherwise made as directed. Thanks for sharing!
