"I tried this one out of my crock pot book and my husband asks for this at least twice per month. He just loves it! I use 93% lean beef because well less fat the better! I also use low sodium and lactose free milk but feel free to use what ever you like! Add bell peppers and mushrooms too!"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Combine beef, bread crumbs, eggs, milk, cheese, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.

Step 2

Mix well.

Step 3

Form into 2 inch round balls.

Step 4

Heat oil in skillet over medium high heat until hot.

Step 5

Brown meatballs on all sides.

Step 6

Add remaining ingredients to 5 or 6 quart crock-pot or slow cooker and stir well.

Step 7

Add meatballs to crock-pot and mix gently to coat meatballs.

Step 8

Cover and cook on low 4 to 6 hours or on high 2 to 4 hours.

Step 9

Serve on top of spaghetti or serve just plain with extra cheese sprinkle on top and garlic bread.

I made half the recipe, and used Herb Ox sodium free beef packets with water for the beef broth, but otherwise followed the recipe and this stew is so delicious! It still made enough so I had leftovers to enjoy! Thank you for a new stew recipe KB, as I love them during the cold months of winter. Linda
