Step by Step Method
Step 1
Fill large pot with enough water to cover the beans and bring to a boil. Add beans and 1/4 tsp salt; boil 3 minutes. Drain and set aside.
Step 2
In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add the panch phoran; stir until it begins to pop, about 30 seconds.
Step 3
Add the onion and saute until it begins to brown, about 4 minutes. Add the garlic and cook another 2 minutes. Add the cayenne and turmeric and stir.
Step 4
Add drained green beans and lemon juice, stir and cook until beans are heated through, about 2 minutes. Stir in black pepper and salt to taste.
Step 5
Put into serving bowl and garnish with toasted almonds.
