  • Adjust the amount of salt and pepper to your taste preference.

  • Substitute almond milk for regular milk. This substitution will make the dish dairy-free, while still providing a creamy texture to the dumplings.
  • Substitute whole wheat flour for all-purpose flour. This substitution will make the dumplings more nutritious and provide a heartier texture.

Herbed Glissants Add 1 teaspoon of dried herbs such as thyme, oregano, or parsley to the dry ingredients before mixing.

Cheesy Glissants Add 1/2 cup of grated cheese such as cheddar, parmesan, or mozzarella to the dry ingredients before mixing.

Roast Beef with Caramelized Onions: Roast beef with caramelized onions is the perfect accompaniment to Glissants. The sweet and savory flavor of the onions complements the dumplings and adds a delicious depth of flavor to the dish.

Garlic Roasted Asparagus: Garlic roasted asparagus is a great side dish to pair with roast beef with caramelized onions. my late mother use to make these. The only difference was her glissants were flat and square, ( I suspect this was a regional difference) and they were really good. Unfortunately, my mother passed away before I could learn how to make them. Since I've moved to the lansing many years ago, anyone I mentioned glissants would tell me they never heard of them. Thanks so much for this information!
