Step by Step Method

Step 1

Scald milk; add butter, sugar, salt.

Step 2

Proof yeast in warm water; stir in warm milk mixture.

Step 3

Add garlic and flour; you may need to add fresh garlic or more garlic powder. This recipe was from an old Nebraska farm woman; they didn't do real strong flavors.

Step 4

Stir to blend. knead until smooth, this is a sticky dough.

Step 5

Cover; let rise in a warm place until doubled in bulk; punch down.

Step 6

Turn into a greased 1-1/2 quart casserole. i used a deep dish pie plate

Step 7

Let rise again.

Step 8

Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes it said 1 hour but my oven is wonky.

Great bread to have with pasta. We used a slightly larger casserole dish than what was called for and next time will probably use another type of baking dish. Delicious! thanks for sharing!
