Frosted Butterscotch Cookies
"An old recipe from Better Homes and Gardens. I frost these cookies with my Browned Butter Frosting."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Step 2
In a large mixing bowl beat the brown sugar and shortening with an electric mixer until well mixed.
Step 3
Add baking soda, baking powder and salt.
Step 4
Beat until combined, scraping bowl often.
Step 5
Beat in eggs and vanilla until combined.
Step 6
Add flour and sour cream alternately to beaten mixture, beating until combined after each addition.
Step 7
Stir in 2/3 cup chopped nuts.
Step 8
Drop by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheets.
Step 9
Bake 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
Step 10
Transfer to wire racks and let cool.
Step 11
Spread cooled cookies with Browned Butter Frosting and if desired, top with additional chopped nuts or walnut halves.
