"This is a simple quick casserole that is surprisingly flavorful. Can be prepared ahead of time and reheated because the more this is reheated, the better it tastes."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Cook pasta according to package directions, and while pasta cooks, cut up hot dogs on the diagonal, the slices look better.

Step 2

Take the drained pasta and mix up with the cut hot dogs and grated cheese, and spoon into a greased casserole dish.

Step 3

Pour the entire bottle of Heinz Chili sauce over this. If it seems a little dry add a enough catsup to make moist.

Step 4

Then lay the 4 slices of bacon over the top of the casserole and bake uncovered 30 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 5

You can prepare this ahead of time and reheat. The more this is reheated, the better the flavor.

I made this recipe on 7/25/13 for the " Vermont Cheesemakers Festival " portion of the Summer Vacation Tour Event in the Games Forum. Except for changing the type of cheese to a Mexican Blend and cutting the recipe in half, the recipe was made just as it was written. My SO and I both felt like it was missing something, not sure what it could have been. We like all the ingredients that are in this, but for some reason they just didn't work for us in this recipe. But thank you for taking time to post this recipe.

Delicious comfort food for sure, great flavor! This is a easy quick meal for any day of the week. Made as written using a 2 quart casserole but had to turn on the broiler for a few minutes to finish the bacon. Thanks for posting.
