"This is our variation on the 3 layer dip with cream cheese and chili. We usually have these ingredients on hand, so it's easy to make up an appetizer when needed. Serve with tortilla chips. You can layer diced jalapeno or finely diced lettuce and tomato on top for extra spice, add sour cream or taco sauce, whatever you like, although my guys like it just like it's posted."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375F. Brown ground round in a large skillet. Follow taco seasoning instructions, simmer 5 minutes.

Step 2

Pat the block of cream cheese completely across the bottom of a 9" pie dish or 8" square baking dish. Cover with the seasoned ground round mixture and spread evenly. Sprinkle with the cheese.

Step 3

Bake in the pre-heated oven for 20 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Sprinkle with jalapeno if desired, or finely diced lettuce and tomato.
