Step by Step Method

Step 1

Prepare the mint by folding the leaves and cutting out the center vein.

Step 2

Then dice the leaves very finely.

Step 3

Reserve a few leaves for garnish.

Step 4

Wash and cut the limes in half.

Step 5

Juice with a press or by hand.

Step 6

Reserve a few thin slices of lime for garnish.

Step 7

Use your own preferences as a guide when deciding to use more or less limes. Remember, if it’s too tart for your taste, you can always add more water or sugar later.

Step 8

Combine the water, lime juice, sugar and mint in a blender on medium speed for a minute or two. You want to give the sweetener a chance to dissolve and allow the mint to be mixed thoroughly with the liquid.

Step 9

Pour the mint limeade into a glass pitcher over crushed ice. Garnish with mint leaves and lime slices.

Step 10

Serve and enjoy!

So refreshing, perfect for those heat-wave summer days like we are having now. So good over ice, but placed half of it in the freezer so it could get slushy (try that, you'll like it). I did up the lime juice until it achieved the flavor we liked. This treat of a drink cooled us down…thank goodness. Thank you, Dee, for sharing. Made it for The AmaZ'ing Race 2023 – Egypt leg.

I love mint and lime together and this is easy and very refreshing. The only thing missing is a shot of rum, making it a mojito.
