Step by Step Method
Step 1
In a large bowl whisk together the egg yolks, sugar, salt and vanilla until light yellow in color and creamy. Add the rum and milk to the mixture then cover and refrigerate along with the egg whites for several hours.
Step 2
When the eggnog is ready to be served you will need two seperate bowls to whip the heavy cream and egg whites to stiff peaks.
Step 3
Remove covered bowl from refrigerator and alternately fold in whipped cream and egg whites. Depending on personal tastes less whipped cream and more milk can be added.
Step 4
Garnish with the nutmeg and cinnamon and serve immediately.
