"The photo alone of this ice cream had me wanting to dig right in and take a bite, so I knew I had to save it here for all of us! This has everything in it that I like, so I am saving it to make at some point. The time and serving size are only a guess because I haven't made it yet. I found the recipe at Something Swanky website."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Use a hand mixer to beat together the sweetened condensed milk, cool whip, cream cheese, 1/4 cup butter, lemon juice, and vanilla extract in a large bowl until smooth. Set aside.

Step 2

In a food processor, or using whatever crushing method you prefer, process the Golden Oreos and 1/4 cup butter together until crumbly (should clump together though).

Step 3

Dump the crust "clumps" into the middle of the ice cream batter, DO NOT stir.

Step 4

Pour the Lucky Leaf Strawberry Pie Filling over the crust "clumps."

Step 5

Use a large rubber spatula to gently fold the filling and crust into the ice cream batter. You should only need to use 2-3 strokes. You want swirls, and it's easy to over mix and combine everything instead if you're not careful.

Step 6

Pour mixture (this will mix it up a little bit more too) into a standard loaf pan and freeze for at least 4 hours (overnight is best).

I didn't used the canned strawberries, instead I used strawberries mixed with sugar then poured into the pie crust. I made sure there wasn't a lot of juice so it didn't make the crust soggy. It turned out great!

I saw this posted and wanted to make it right away and decided to bring it to have at my moms for Memorial Day cookout. Nothing like ice cream to refresh your palate after eating. I used fresh strawberries cooked a little with sugar, cornstarch and some strawberry jam for the pie filling as I don't like the canned stuff, too sweet for me! Good thing I made two so everyone could have some. I made it up well ahead of time to make sure it got frozen solid. It was so refreshing and delicious, especially outside when it's warm!
