"This is so quick and very tasty! The prosciutto gives the fish a wonderful flavor. This is a slight variation on an Ellie Krieger Healthy Appetite recipe."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Grind pepper over fish and wrap each piece in 2 slices of prosciutto - they will probably be slightly overlapping.

Step 2

Spray a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray. Heat to medium-high heat. Add fish fillets and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until prosciutto is crisping and fish is starting to brown. You may need to turn the heat down to medium after a few minutes.

Step 3

Note: cooking time might need to be increased if using a thicker type of fish than tilapia.

Tips

  • Cooking spray

What a great way to enjoy tilapia. I did add a bit of garlic and onion powder to this and served it up with cooked rice, this made for a fantastic dinner. Update: January 24 2020 I make this very often, I love the ease of this recipe. I enjoy this served atop a bed of lettuce with a light drizzle of Italian dressing.

This is a very interesting and wonderful way to cook fish - although I used tilapia - I think it would be great for other mild fish - it adds so much flavor! Thanks for posting this keeper recipe!

Made for the FF&F FYC Tag Game - We have a bounty of fish in Iceland & are always looking for new, easy-fix & tasty ways to cook it. I used cod, sprinkled it generously w/Lime Pepper & wrapped it in the prosciutto in less than 2-3 min. Keeping the prosciutto edges on 1 side of the fillets & starting the cooking on that side helps to seal the wrapping & make cooking the fillets a snap. The flavor of the fish is lovely. Thx for sharing your recipe w/us.
