Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a medium saucepan combine the peas with chicken broth or water and garlic powder; bring to a simmer, then add in the butter. Reduce heat to medium-low and continue to simmer.

Step 2

In a small bowl whisk the whipping cream with flour and sugar until smooth and combined, then add to the simmering broth; cook stirring constantly until smooth and thickened (about 3-4 minutes).

Step 3

Mix in Parmesan cheese, then season with salt and pepper.
