"This is a very traditional Danish recipe.It really goes well with roast pork. You do not add any water the moisture from the cabbage is enough. I cook this in my wok on a low setting of 3 (there are 12 settings) You can cook it longer than 2 hours. If it isn't beginning to get browned after 1 1/2 hours turn the heat up a bit but watch you don't burn it."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Place bacon dripping (oil) in a wok or large skillet, turn to very low heat

Step 2

Add cabbage, put a lid on the pan

Step 3

Every time that you pass by give the cabbage a stir

Step 4

Add the caraway seeds after about a half hour, keep the lid on

Step 5

Continue cooking for a total of at least 2 hours or until it is golden

Made a huge batch of this on the BBQ over high heat in a cast iron pan and served it up with a smoked pork roast. It was enjoyed by all. This will see many repeats here. Made for the Billboard Recipe Tag Game.
