"I've used this recipe since the late 1970s. These cookies have won cookie contests and been called the Best Ever by numerous people. I've always called them Cuppa Cookies simply because there is a cuppa this and a cuppa that and a cuppa something else. If you are short or don't like, one of the final five ingredients double one that you do like. I have also used butterscotch chips instead of chocolate chips."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Cream together first six ingredients until sugars are dissolved and mixture is light and fluffy.

Step 2

Add flour, salt, soda, cream of tartar and mix well. Mixture will appear too "thin" for cooking. It will be fine when remaining ingredients are added.

Step 3

Stir in coconut, cereal, oatmeal, chocolate chips and nuts.

Step 4

Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Drop batter onto baking sheet.

Step 5

Bake 12-14 minutes at 350 degrees

My grandchildren came for the weekend so I whipped up a batch of these cookies. They are a kid pleaser and they ate a whole cookie jar full in the two days they have been here. They loved these cookies and so did we!

My grandson loved these cookies that I made up when I knew he was coming. I guess I will have to keep my cookie jar filled with these delicious cookies because we found that after eating one, we had to have 2 or 3 at a time!

We love sweets and were very happy to try these out. They were excellent and we will make them over and over. The kids went wild when they found them in the cookie jar!

These are fantastic cookies. The only change I made was to use (hard) margarine instead of butter. I used rounded tablespoons of dough and got 75 cookies. They are light, crispy, tender, and delicious. I can see this being a good recipe to use up some of those part bags of ingredients that collect in the pantry.
