I picked this to serve at a Christmas get together with friends, and everyone loved it. Unfortunately we had a warm front move in and it was almost 80 degrees! I've done this on the stove top before, but it was so easy to keep warm using the crock pot. We added the rum as we served the cider.:) Can't wait to have this again in Jan or Feb when it cools off a bit!

This is basically the same way I have been making cider for years, except I have never added rum. What a great flavor addition. And the dollop of butter is a nice touch. This is a keeper. (I used dark rum).
