Step by Step Method

Step 1

Cook the orzo according to the package directions; drain well.

Step 2

In a large skillet melt the butter over medium heat; add in the onion and saute until just softened (about 3 minutes). Add in fresh garlic and cayenne; cook 1 minute. Reduce the heat to low and add in the cooked orzo, Parmesan cheese, cream or milk and parsley; toss to heat through.

Step 3

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

My dd wanted to make this to have with some fish we were having. It was very good! She didn't add any heat, which my dh was happy about. I will be making this myself soon because we enjoyed it so much!

I cut the recipe down to serve 3...it really does make a lot...we loved the Parmesan flavor in this dish..the hubby took one bite and said...wow...this is good...made from Karen's best of 2017 cookbook...

I did make slight changes to this to make this gluten free using cooked brown rice and I used canned coconut milk because I was out of cream and this tasted fantastic!!!!
