"This recipe was given to me many years ago by a co-worker, KATHY STERLING, whose family owned and operated a crab processing plant on the eastern shore of MD. I am posting this here in memory of Kathy, she died of advanced breast and bone cancer 10 years ago. This is a family favorite."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Soften cheese and butter; mix all ingredients together.

Step 2

Spread mixture on muffin halves.

Step 3

Freeze at least 30 minutes.

Step 4

Bake at 325° F until lightly browned or put under broiler until lightly browned.

Step 5

To serve as appetizers cut each muffin half into quarters.

What a lovely taste treat! I mixed the ingredients in my mini mixer which made the spread quite smooth but next time I will fork mix to have a more intersting texture (I think this is what Lee intended). The only change I made was to used baguette slices instead of Englsh Muffins. I lightly buttered and toasted one side of the slices. I found freezing them before putting them in the oven made them come out crisp and delicious. Super do again recipe
