Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a saucepan cook the flour with half and half or milk and vanilla until a pasty consistancy stirring constantly. Transfer to a mixing bowl and cool completely before continuing.

Step 2

Beat in butter, shortening and sugar and salt until fluffy. Add cooled pasty mixture and beat about 5 minutes.
