Step by Step Method
FOR THE DRESSING
Step 1
Combine all the dressing ingredients except the vegetable oil and sesame seeds in a blender on high speed. Slowly add the oil to mixture through the hole in the lid – it will thicken and create an emulsion. Add the sesame seeds and blend for just a couple of seconds. Pour the dressing into a container (such as a dressing cruet), cover, and chill until needed.
TO BUILD THE SALAD
Step 2
Arrange iceberg lettuce in the bottom of a large salad bowl or on a plate, then the red leaf lettuce on top of the iceberg lettuce. Sprinkle the cooked chicken pieces alternately with mandarin orange wedges over.
Step 3
Next, sprinkle chow mein noodles, then last, the roasted sliced almonds on top of each salad.
Step 4
Add the desired amount of sesame dressing and serve.
