Chicken Coating

"I like playing around with different spice and herb combinations to add to flour for chicken coating. This is one concoction I really enjoy. I make this ahead of time to allow for quick and easy week day meals."

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons paprika
  • 2 tablespoons celery salt
  • 2 tablespoons dry mustard
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons seasoned salt
  • 1 tablespoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano

  How to Make
 
 

Step 1

Mix all ingredients well and store in an air-tight container.

Step 2

When ready to use:Shake chicken pieces with plain flour.

Step 3

Dip flour dredged chicken in beaten eggs.

Step 4

Shake with enough of the mixture to coat all chicken pieces.

Step 5

Place chicken pieces on a baking sheet coated with non-stick spray.

Step 6

Bake in a 325 degree Fahrenheit oven until cooked through, time will vary depending on size of chicken pieces.

This seasoned coating is really good and I loved it on my chicken breasts. It was full of flavor and I just loved it so much. I did half a recipe and had plenty for my chicken. I baked my chicken as I always do in a preheated oven, at 350 degrees, for 1 hour. It works for all types of chicken pieces, even wings. I will definitely use this again in the near future! Thanks so much for another great meal Bea! Linda
