Step by Step Method

Step 1

Mix together the soup, milk, salt and pepper

Step 2

Lightly grease a 13"X9"X2" oven proof pan

Step 3

Place 1/3 of the potatoes in the dish, cover with 1/3 onions, drizzle with 1/3 butter, sprinkle in 1/3 flour, cover with 1/3 of the soup mixture. Repeat 2 more times ending with a layer of the soup mixture on top

Step 4

Bake uncovered in 350f oven for 1 1/2 hours or until the potatoes are cooked and the casserole is golden

Step 5

If you are topping with cheese and fried mushrooms add them to the top 15 minutes before end of baking time

I love this recipe. You call it cheating, I call it just plain good! I have shared this recipe with so many people and everyone loves it. I have made it as the recipe states and I also sometimes add some shredded cheddar cheese in with the layering. This one is a real winner! Thanks Bergy! It is my go to recipe for scalloped potatoes!
