"Found at joycesfinecookingdotcom/Canadian recipes. Although probably not kid-friendly w/whisky in the marinade, it is a small amount & is partially discarded. It also appears the marinade could be halved & used to fix adult & kid portions. That said, this recipe caught my eye because I thought it would also work well w/lamb meat that is more-favored & far less expensive than beef here in Iceland. Although unusual to pair lamb w/oranges, it still sounded good to me. Think about it - Lamb, oranges, whole mushrooms & onion (my expanded vision, but marinated w/this recipe & cooked on the grill). How could that ever be bad? (Time does not include time to marinate) NOTE: While the whisky is shown as optional, the recipe author made quite a point to say she NEVER leaves it out. Enjoy!"

Step by Step Method
Step 1
In a large re-sealable bag, combine vinegar, garlic, syrup, onions, whiskey, cloves, salt & pepper. Gently add orange chunks.
Step 2
Trim excess fat from steak. Cut into 1" cubes & add to the bag. Seal tightly & refrigerate for at least 30 min (or overnight).
Step 3
Remove bag from fridge & reserve marinade for basting.
Step 4
Thread steak & orange chunks onto metal or soaked wooden skewers. Place skewers on a greased grill over med-high heat. Close lid & cook 4-5 min per side or until browned but still pink inside (baste w/reserved marinade at least once during grilling & discard marinade when cooking is completed).
