"While this isn't the best looking dish, it tastes so darn good your family won't care! Plus, its super easy! I made this using a breakfast roll of hot sausage one time and my family went nuts for it! So I use sausage everytime now!"

Original is 6 servings

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Brown the hamburger with onion. Drain grease.

Step 2

Meanwhile, prepare the cabbage. Cut into bit size chunks.

Step 3

In a 2 quart casserole with a lid, spray with cooking spray. Lay 3 cups of cabbage on the bottom of casserole. Salt and pepper cabbage.

Step 4

Next make a layer of your browned hamburger with onions on top of cabbage and spread out evenly.

Step 5

Layer last 3 cups of cabbage over the hamburger. Salt and pepper cabbage.

Step 6

Top with undiluted tomato soup. Spread with spatula to cover the whole casserole dish.

Step 7

Make sure to cover the casserole tightly. Bake at 350° for 1 hour. Don't peak while its cooking, just let it cook for 1 hour!

I can't believe that I haven't reviewed this great tasting casserole. Super easy, so perfect for a 'meal in a bowl' making for a great evening meal or for easy weekend meals. Have made it with both ground beef as well as with Italian sausage. This is a perfect dish to have on hand for those needing to fore go pasta. We love cabbage and this casserole is perfect for our family - into my family cookbook with this one!

This is a tasty meal that is very easy to put together. I only had 4 cups of cabbage so I put 2 cups on the bottom layer and 2 cups on the top layer. I also used green onions as that is all I had on hand. Mine did take about an hour and a half to cook through but that is probably because my cabbage was frozen. Will make again and added to my keepers list. Made for the Billboard Recipe tag game.
