"Butter Tarts are a must on our holiday tray and special occasions as is this old family recipe, Butter Nut Tart Squares made with chopped walnuts. Buttery and delicious. So easy- so good. You may want to try them using pecans - either or they are a winner on the serving tray. Being very rich I cut into dainty squares, and place in the pretty foil cup cake liners."

Oh wow...these are entirely too good! I did discover if you cut them too soon after they come out of the oven the sugar topping will run all over the plate, but I really did not mind at all because it was so gooey and wonderful. I used walnuts because I didn't have pecans, but otherwise followed exactly.

MMMmm These were so easy to throw together and they are so delicious with the buttery taste of the bars and the nuts. We really loved them!

These are so very yummy! Quick and easy to put together. I made mine with walnuts but I am sure pecans would be lovely too. I let them cool for about 45 minutes then cut us each a piece and it was still a wee bit warm...yum! Thanks for sharing Gerry! Made for Billboard Recipe Tag.
