"We love jerky however most store bought jerky is too salty for our taste. So I came up with this marinade to combat that problem. I use an automatic electric dehydrator. The prep time is the slicing and marinating time, and the cook time is the dehydration time. Serving size depends on how thin the meat is sliced. Feel free to add hot sauce to make a version with a kick."

Top of the round steak was on sale and I picked up 2 big packages to make beef jerky for our camping and hiking trip. The steak itself is always so full of flavor when I cook it at home that I thought it would be a great steak to try for dehydrating purposes. It came out so delicious using this recipe.

I partially froze my steak and it made it much easier to slice when partially frozen. The marinade is excellent and the jerky is so delicious! I plan to use this regularly when I make jerky. Thank you for sharing another great recipe with us Deb! Linda

Made this using strips of venison meat and oh boy, this is good. A new recipe to add to my jerky file. Thanks for sharing. Made for the Billboard Recipe Tag game.
