Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350F.

Step 2

Fry bacon in a skillet until cooked and crisp. Slice into bite-size pieces. Set aside.

Step 3

In the same skillet, brown the ground beef/turkey, onions, and green peppers in a large skillet. Add garlic and cook for a few minutes.

Step 4

Stir in tomatoes, tomato sauce, kidney beans, mushrooms and Italian seasoning.

Step 5

Cover and cook at medium heat for around 20-22 minutes.

Step 6

Stir in salt, pepper, bacon and cooked pasta.

Step 7

Transfer to a greased 9x13 casserole dish.

Step 8

Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top.

Step 9

Bake uncovered for around 35-40 minutes or until it's hot and it is bubbling.

Step 10

Remove from the oven, sprinkle with the mozzarella cheese, return to oven to melt cheese (10 minutes).
