Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350° F

Step 2

Heat 1-2 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet. Add in onions, cook until softened, about 4 minutes.

Step 3

Add ground beef and garlic powder and oregano, brown the ground beef completely, about 10 minutes.

Step 4

Add rice, peas tomato sauce, 1 cup cheese and broth, season with salt and pepper. Simmer mixture for 5-8 minutes, stirring.

Step 5

Transfer everything into a casserole dish and bake for 15 minutes

Step 6

Meanwhile combine the remaining 1 cup shredded cheese with the sour cream.

Step 7

After 15 minutes bring the cheese/sour cream mixture on top of you casserole and bake for another 15 minutes.
